As I sit and remember the events of today, my mind and heart can't help but pause and ache at the realization that so many worldwide failed to realize the significant event this day was set aside to remember.
As I sat in church this morning crying in gratitude at the sheer power that defeated the grave, my mind snuck away to the faces of those I know and love who don't understand the love of my Jesus.
As I drove a rain covered highway to spend time with my family, my voice rose in worship as my heart cried out in pain at the sinful deviations of His perfect creation passing by my line of vision at incredible rates of speed.
As I sit here tonight my mind cannot stray far from my ever increasing desire to return to a beautiful South Asian girl as quickly as possible in order that she may have the chance to hear and receive the Good News before it's too late.
How can it be that a gift so precious and so powerful fails to be heard by the majority of the world today? How can it be that 88% of Muslims worldwide have never even met a follower of Jesus? How do we justify our lives of contentment when Jesus is going before us, appearing in dreams and visions, and beckoning His creation to Himself meanwhile only asking that we love, that we serve, and that we verbalize the Message hearts are searching for?
Easter is not about bunny rabbits and candy. It is not about food and the fellowship of those we love dearly. While these things are permissible and good, they are an aside in a greater story of redemption that the world must hear.
What are we doing with our lives?
My Jesus, thank you for the joy (and even the heartache) of today. What a gift! What a sacrifice! What majestic news that the same power that conquered the grave lives in me!
May the remainder of my life display the urgency of the realization that the power that raised You from the grave is the power that saves the lost...
